How we design a mould

From the design of the product desired, our Technical Department studies, develops and designs the mould considering the specifications defined with the customer during the engineering phase.

Depending on the required characteristics, the moulds are designed with particular attention to steels, thermal and surface treatments, types of injection, extractions, movements and thermoregulations.
This way, we can ensure maximum durability, ease of moulding and cost-effectiveness, but also facility of modifications, interchangeability, fine-tunings and maintenances.

All moulds are internally designed with 3D CAD software (VISI) and dedicated tools; the projects are then shared and approved by the customer, providing 2D and 3D drawings along with precise specifications and the guarantee of the durability of the mould.

How we design a mould

The prototyping equipment

Thanks to pilot moulds we are able to optimize and validate the construction criteria and functionality of complex moulds with multiple cavities.

The possibility to produce pre-series allows us to anticipate all tests and calibrations of eventual automations and post-processings; furthermore, it allows the customer to evaluate and fine-tune the finished product before the mass production.

How we create a mould

The different components of the mould are made internally in our tool shop with CNC machines.

Using the VISI CAD/CAM software, our technicians develop and manage the required processes of the CNC machines and the necessary operations for constructing the mould, optimizing production times and ensuring compliance with the project and the precision/quality that the product requires.

After a thorough metrological control of each component, the mould is assembled, and movements, slidings and adjustments are verified and refined.

The mould is then wired, identified and prepared for the test phase.

The validation

The assembled mould is tested in conditions equal to those of production.
The products are tested as well according to the specifications agreed with the customer thanks to various processes, such as: 3D optical and contact measuring systems, traditional measuring instruments, tomographies and functional tests.

A metrological report is issued after each test; non-compliant measurements are corrected by appropriate adjustments to the mould components and test phase is repeated until the product fully meets the specifications requested.

Our qualified personnel manages the entire sampling process by verifying and validating the control methods, in continuous collaboration with the customer.

Modifications, maintenances and assistance

We don’t just make the molds, we also provide assistance through their entire lifetime.
In agreement with the customer, we manage every modification and maintenance, both ordinary and extraordinary,
to ensure functionality and durability over time.
All the moulds in use are covered by insurance and are managed through a careful storage method thanks to two dedicated warehouses, where each mould has an identified and assigned location.
